Large Capacitive Touch Assemblies
ELK continues to supply millions of touch sensors and assemblies each month to customers manufacturing mobile phones and similar handheld devices. However, over the last year the demand for larger touch panels has grown dramatically with the emergence of tablet PC's and media players.
The cost effective manufacture of touch sensors larger than 7" presents specific challenges. However, with PET sensors offering potentially thinner and lighter assemblies than is possible with glass sensors, this is a market on which ELK is heavily focused.
ELK has made significant investment in developing manufacturing processes particularly suited to the production of touch sensors between 7" and 11". In 2010, additional manufacturing capacity was commissioned that is optimized for the production of larger touch panels.
